Project: Thematic Sequential Imagery
By: Fred Moayed
For this project, I have decided to create a photo essay about Covid-19. Changes that we have experience in our environment because of the coronavirus inspired me to create this work. My images represent a visual essay about the effects of Covid-19 on our everyday life and the changes we see in our environment because of the pandemic. The pictures I took for this work are things I see every day. I want people to see what I see every day. My main intention is to explore and present the changes in our daily routines that we witness in our environment.
Ever since I was a teenager, I have been fascinated by art especially photography after my uncle gave me a point-and-shoot camera. I like the idea that I can express my thoughts and feelings through photography. My photography experience has taught me that portraits can tell meaningful stories about humans. With an interest in photography and an eye for details, and a love of creating things I like to create images that would leave a lasting impression on the viewer. My inspiration for this work comes from great photo journalistic photographers like Robert Frank. I spent several hours on the streets in my neighborhood and tried to take images of people going about their daily life. My goal for this artwork was to take the viewer’s attention to the expression and feelings of the subjects in these photographs.
